Hero footsteps

Pick one by number. Nothing here is in the game yet. Hover or tap a name for the source.

Game speedPace used: hero speed 3 metres per second, one step every 0.35 s, so one step per 1.05 metres. 2x and 3x play the proposal, steps that follow the feet. Card 0 stays at 0.35 s, because that is what the game does today at every speed. Shape of one stepThe coloured shape is one step, loud where it is tall. The dashed line is where the next step starts at 1x. A step that ends before the line stays clean.

These steps are the most even in length and loudness, and grass is what the map shows. Your ear decides.

Comes with your pick

Steps follow the feetToday a clock plays a step every 0.35 s, even at game speed 3 when the hero covers three times the ground. Proposal: one step every 1.05 metres walked, so the sound always fits. This is a change in the player code, so it goes to the worker who owns it.
Never the same step twiceToday the player picks at random, so with 5 clips the same one comes back 1 time in 5. Proposal: skip the one that just played. The page already does this.
Silent on pauseFrom reading the code, the step clock keeps running while the game is paused, so a hero paused in mid walk may keep stepping. Not tried in the game yet.
